Let's also talk about what was the worst online business advice anyone ever gave you. For me, it was “blog till you drop” I was told I should blog like my life depends on it I was told to share my truth and share my opinion every week (twice if I want to become a millionaire in 6 months) I was told to list down all possible topics I could find about my industry and just blog the hell out of those suckers… Haaa the sad old miserable days! I did just that and guess what?  I did get a ton of traffic, subscribers and visibility and “glad we found yous” and precisely ZERO sales And this is exactly where online gurus miss the mark entirely…

People do not google or come to your site looking to spend money (mostly) they come because they are DYING to find a solution and when they get this information free by getting on your list and you all you do with their email is send them your latest blog…this is what happens:

They either get the information from you and then go buy from someone else or

They delay the purchase decision altogether

In both cases, you lose! Sounds bleak right? Here's how to make your blogging work for you …all nicely wrapped up in one magical word…Autoresponders? Autoresponders are carefully designed emails that your send out to your people as soon as they sign up because:

They sign up for the freebie but they buy because of what happens after they snag the freebie

In short, autoresponders are your key to turning subscribers into buyers Here's the thing Killer auto responders are not about catchy subject lines or sleazy by-from-me tactics and they sells you without YOU having to sell yourself   perusasive blogging But not all autoresponders are created equal. If you are using this powerful selling tool to send your regular blog post ONLY, you are taking a huge slice from your sales and shoving it down the drain Sounds dreadful right? Fortunately it’s fairly easy to fix.

Here is your 4-step plan to create autoresponder sequences that actually turns those precious subscribers into buyers!

Step one: Know Them

What keeps them up at night (specific to your offering)? What are their red-hot burning pains?

What sort of statements would they use if they were to ask someone about their problem or google it?

Step Two: Make Them Believe

List down your Reasons To Believe (RTB):

  1. Why should they trust you?
  2. How does your solution work?
  3. What is the surety that this will work?

 Step Three: Get Working

Start drafting your autoresponders based on the 3:2:1 persuasive blogging model. This is how it works:

  1. Three pieces of content that propose a solution to a problem and therefore establish you as authority in the field (Use the pain points above and weave the RTBs through the content)
  2. Two pieces of content that are decoy sales messages, meaning they offer a solution but ONLY with your offering
  3. One piece of content, which is an explicit sales message such as a promotion or a sale message etc.

 Step Four: Set it Up

Set up the auto responders in the 3:2:1 sequence and cha-ching!

Sounds too much work right?

I am giving you a cheat sheet that you can use to plan your autoresponder using the 3:2:1 framework. Ain’t I lovely?

This is great stuff Bushra and so timely because I’m writing a bunch of A/R’s and feel stuck. Can you show us written samples in the sequence you suggested of some good A/R’s. Maybe even a mini-course?

    • bushra.a on February 13, 2015 at 10:09 pm

I would make it 3-4 days apart but really it depends on what content you are sending 🙂
